Lenten Project: "Feed My Sheep"

Over thirty-two thousand Sussex County residents face food insecurity each day. In fact our county has the highest rate of food insecurity in the state of Delaware (13.3%), affecting children, family, and the elderly.

For Lent, All Saints' Church & St. George's Chapel will make a project of supporting five local food distribution centers. Each week during coffee hour, a volunteer will share their experience helping in a food distribution center. We are spotlighting: The Shepherd's Office, The Milton Food Pantry, Jusst Sooup in Coolspring, CRC Food Rescue Program and Cape Henlopen Food Basket, Rehoboth.

How you can participate: Send your financial contribution to the Parish Office or place it in an envelope labeled Lenten Project in the collection plate any Sunday during Lent. Stop by one of the centers and make a food contribution or see how you can help support them.

Art image of the Good Samaritan

Mondays, 6 pm, February 3 to April 7

All Saints' Parish Hall

Led by The Rev. Celeste O. Cox

This Bible study explores the Gospel of Luke and the ways it informs the mission of the Church. With attention to the Gospel program articulated in Luke 4:16-30, we will study, then reflect together, on various passages in the Gospel. Topics may include texts to be featured on upcoming Sundays; parables unique to Luke such as The Good Samaritan and The Prodigal Son; Luke's journey motif; and the early church's imaginative reading of the Bible known as The Senses of Scripture. All are welcome; no experience necessary.
