The Episcopal Church in America

While The Episcopal Church is headquartered in New York City, we are not a national church—we are a multinational denomination. As the only U.S.-based member of the worldwide Anglican Communion, The Episcopal Church is part of the world’s third-largest group of Christians and currently has more than 1.6 million members.  We are denominational descendants of—and partners with—the Church of England and the Scottish Episcopal Church.  The mission of the church, as stated in the Book of Common Prayer’s catechism, is “to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.”  In step with that mission, The Episcopal Church follows Jesus into loving, liberating, and life-giving relationships with God, with each other, and with the earth.  We are the Episcopal branch of the Jesus Movement. https://www.episcopalchurch.org/

The Episcopal Church in Delaware

The Episcopal Church in Delaware is comprised of the entire State of Delaware (New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties). It is one of the oldest dioceses in the country, established in 1785 following the first convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States in 1784. There are approximately 8,550 Episcopalians in the Diocese of Delaware. We are a relatively stable diocese of 32 parishes. Our congregations range in size from a close-knit handful to almost 400 on a Sunday morning. The Diocesan Website has a trove of information ranging from the history of the diocese to upcoming diocesan wide events.  https://delaware.church/history/

Episcopal Relief and Development

For over 80 years, Episcopal Relief & Development has been working together with supporters and partners for lasting change around the world. Each year the organization facilitates healthier, more fulfilling lives for more than 3 million people struggling with hunger, poverty, disaster and disease. Inspired by Jesus’ words in Matthew 25, Episcopal Relief & Development leverages the expertise and resources of Anglican and other partners to deliver measurable and sustainable change in three signature program areas: Women, Children and Climate. We take our mandate from the words of Jesus, found in Matthew 25:37-40, that call us to feed the hungry, care for the sick and welcome the stranger. https://www.episcopalrelief.org/who-we-are/
